Morgan Hill Mushroom Mardi Gras
Scholarship Program – Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors living within the geographical boundaries of the Morgan Hill Unified School District. This district has the largest loading area in the state of California. The boundaries go from Gilroy, including San Martin, to South San Jose and Almaden Valley. The scholarships are available to public and private school students.
- In 2012, >100 applications were submitted for scholarships.
- In 2012, $40,000 in scholarship funds were dispersed.
- Over $800,000 has been awarded since 1980.
- ~40 students per year are awarded the scholarships.
Non-Profit Support – The Mushroom Mardi Gras invites local, non-profit organizations & clubs to participate in the Festival by providing discounts for booth space and/or $10 per man-hour for on-site assistance. In the past, The Mushroom Mardi Gras has paid approximately $15,000 – $20,000 per year, to non-profit clubs and organizations for their on-site work. Also, any funds raised from non-profit vendors, are entirely those organizations to keep.
